The tight-knit community of New Durham is grieving the tragic and sudden loss of Logan McEvoy, who died in a car accident earlier this week. A beloved son, father, brother, and friend, Logan was just beginning a new chapter in life when it was cut short.
Logan was a former student and standout athlete at Kingswood Regional High School, where he was known not only for his abilities on the field but for his infectious smile and warm heart. After graduation, he worked at Burke’s Tree Service, where he became a valued team member and part of an extended work family.
His passing has left those who knew him reeling. Nathan Burke of Burke’s Tree Service shared, “Uncle Logi, my heart is absolutely shattered. The joy you shared and the smile you put on everyone’s face no matter what is irreplaceable. You are one of the greatest humans I have ever come across.”
Logan’s sister Steph McEvoy also shared heartfelt words, writing, “My heart is broken in a million pieces. Logan was so much to me. He was so loved by so many. My house is open to anyone that wants to come by and share their love for Logan.”
Tributes poured in from all corners of Logan’s life, each one echoing the same sentiment: he was full of life, laughter, and love. Abby Devine wrote, “It still doesn’t feel real. We love you buddy and you will be missed by so many. Don’t worry—you will live on through each of your siblings and that little sweet girl.”
Logan leaves behind his beloved daughter Lydia, his grieving parents Steph and Greg, his sister Kayla, and brothers Devin and Dillon, along with many extended family members and friends who considered him one of their own. Kelly McEvoy asked the community for prayers, especially for Logan’s daughter and immediate family, as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
Logan McEvoy was a light to many and a presence that will never be forgotten. His memory lives on in the laughter he sparked, the love he shared, and the countless lives he touched.
A memorial service will be announced in the coming days.
